About Me

Hello! I'm Eileen Thomson, a self-taught artist born in the heart of Yorkshire, England, in 1964. Growing up in a vibrant area rich with the history of coal mining, textiles, and the unmistakable charm of traditional British favourites—like fish and chips—my surroundings have always been a source of inspiration. From an early age, I felt a pull towards the arts. Although I earned an O level in art during high school, my initial creative explorations began with ceramics, where I found joy in the tactile process of shaping clay. But deep down, I knew there was more to discover in my artistic journey.

My true passion revealed itself in the world of abstract art, a path I embraced partly because I realized that traditional drawing wasn't my strongest suit. This realization led me to acrylics, a medium that instantly captivated me with its bold, vibrant colours and limitless versatility. With an array of acrylic paints at my disposal, I delved into experimenting with pouring techniques and embellishments, fascinated by the fluidity and unpredictability of the medium. The magic of acrylics lies in their ability to create surprising, one-of-a-kind pieces—no two are ever the same, and each artwork reveals new dimensions with every glance.

Now residing in the stunning landscapes of Scotland, I find endless inspiration in the breathtaking countryside that surrounds me. The rolling hills, expansive skies, and serene waters fuel my imagination and serve as a backdrop for my evolving artistry. As I continue to emerge in the art world, I’m currently working from my pop-up studio—a humble space where each brushstroke and pour is a step in honing my rapidly growing skills. My dream is to expand into a dedicated studio that fully reflects my creative vision and accommodates my ambition to explore larger and more complex projects.

Creating art brings me immense joy and excitement; every piece is a journey of exploration and expression. Whether I’m pouring vibrant hues onto a canvas or delicately embellishing a piece of cradle wood, I pour all my energy and passion into my work. For me, each artwork is not just a creation but a narrative—a personal reflection of my artistic vision and the emotions I hope to share with the world.

As I continue to expand my space and refine my craft, I am excited to share my art with you. My hope is that my work not only brings a splash of vibrancy to your walls but also resonates with you on a personal level. Thank you for joining me on this creative journey—I look forward to what we’ll discover together!
